Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping evening on the water with Reel Naughty Sportfishing's 4-hour shark fishing trip. We're talking serious action after the sun goes down, when Ocean City's waters come alive with predators on the hunt. This isn't your average day trip – it's a chance to tangle with some of the ocean's most powerful game fish under the cover of darkness. Whether you're a seasoned shark angler or looking to cross this off your bucket list, our crew's got you covered for an unforgettable night on the Atlantic.
Here's the scoop: We push off from the docks at 7 PM, just as the sky's starting to darken. You've got four solid hours to hunt for sharks in their prime feeding time. This trip runs from May 1st through July 10th, hitting that sweet spot when the big boys are cruising our waters. We provide all the heavy-duty gear, lures, and live bait you'll need to hook into something toothy. Our seasoned crew knows these waters like the back of their hand, and they're all about making sure you have a killer time out there. Plus, fishing at night means you dodge the scorching daytime heat – it's a win-win.
When it comes to after-dark shark fishing, we don't mess around. We're talking stout rods, reels packed with hundreds of yards of line, and terminal tackle that can handle some serious abuse. We'll be using a mix of live and cut bait to draw in the predators. Expect to see some serious chum slicks laid out to bring the sharks to us. The technique? It's a game of patience and explosive action. We'll set our baits at different depths, maybe float a few on the surface, and wait for that telltale run that'll have your heart pounding. When a shark takes the bait, it's all hands on deck for an epic battle under the stars.

On this trip, we're zeroing in on the shortfin mako shark – the speedster of the shark world. These guys are the sprinters of the sea, known to clock speeds up to 45 mph in short bursts. Makos aren't just fast; they're smart and acrobatic too. Don't be surprised if you see one leap clear out of the water during the fight. They typically range from 6 to 8 feet long, but bigger ones aren't uncommon. Makos are prized for their hard-fighting nature and their meat, which is considered some of the best eating in the shark family. Late spring to early summer is prime time for makos in Ocean City waters, as they follow the warming currents and baitfish migrations. Hooking into one of these bad boys is a test of skill, strength, and endurance – it's the kind of fish story you'll be telling for years to come.
Let me tell you, there's something special about being out on the water after dark. The ocean takes on a whole new personality. It's quieter, more mysterious, and the anticipation builds with every splash or movement in the water. Sharks are more active at night, often feeding closer to the surface, which ups your chances of hooking into a monster. Plus, the cooler temperatures make for a more comfortable fishing experience. You'll see the stars like never before, maybe catch a glimpse of bioluminescence in the water, and experience the thrill of not knowing exactly what's lurking beneath the surface until it hits your line. It's fishing with an extra edge that day trips just can't match.
Now, I've been in this game a long time, and I can tell you that not all charters are created equal. With Reel Naughty Sportfishing, you're getting a crew that lives and breathes these waters. We're not just about catching fish; we're about creating an experience. Our boat is rigged specifically for shark fishing, with all the latest electronics to put you on the fish. We know the spots where the big ones hang out, and we've got the tricks to entice them to bite. Safety is our top priority, especially when dealing with sharks at night, so you can focus on the excitement of the catch knowing you're in good hands.
Alright, so you're pumped and ready to book. Here's what you need to know: Dress in layers – it can get chilly out there at night. Bring a camera with a good flash to capture your epic catches. Don't forget some snacks and drinks (no glass bottles, though). Sea sickness can sneak up on you, so if you're prone to it, take your meds before we head out. And remember, the sea can be unpredictable, so come with a flexible attitude and ready for adventure. We can take up to 6 anglers, making it perfect for a group of friends or family looking for a unique night out.
If you're itching to test your mettle against some of the ocean's top predators under the cover of darkness, now's the time to book. Our night shark trips are some of our most popular outings, and spots fill up fast, especially during peak season. Remember, this is a limited-time offer running from May 1st to July 10th, so don't sleep on it. Give us a call or shoot us a message to reserve your spot. Whether you're a hardcore angler or just looking for an out-of-the-ordinary adventure, this trip's got your name on it. Trust me, once you've felt the rush of battling a shark under the stars, regular fishing just won't cut it anymore. So what are you waiting for? Let's get you out there for a night of fishing you'll never forget!

Shortfin makos are the speed demons of the shark world. These sleek predators can hit 30 mph and leap 20 feet out of the water. You'll find them cruising near the surface offshore, but they'll dive deep too. Most makos we hook run 6-8 feet long and put up an insane fight. Summer's prime time to target makos here. They're aggressive and will readily take live baits like bluefish. Be ready for anything when you hook one - they're known to jump into boats! Use heavy gear - at least 50 lb class tackle with wire leaders. Makos are prized for both their fight and their meat. The steaks are excellent eating. Local tip: Try chumming with ground mackerel and tuna to bring them in close. Just keep your wits about you - these sharks are smart, fast, and not afraid to get rowdy. It's an adrenaline rush you won't forget.
